I have also been around the automotive industry throughout my life. My childhood summers were spent with fellow members of the National Hot Rod Association. My father was not just an avid street rod enthusiast, but for a time, was also an automotive technician. I started working with the public at 11 years of age, through a family business. It was a natural progression for me to enter the healthcare field, multitasking, all the while, forming relationships with patients, from my community. I am a Dental Hygienist and work part time, at a wonderful office, in St Thomas. I am a Service Advisor and Administrator at Gurr Auto as well. When you are in, just say “Hi”. I have been around the automotive industry my whole life, as my father is also a licensed automotive service technician. I started my apprenticeship while still in high school, and after graduation in April 1989, I was officially licensed the following month. Since then, I have dedicated myself to lifelong learning, staying abreast of all new technologies, and even taking more than 500 training courses. I strive for perfection, and with strong morals and abilities, it doesn’t take long to realize the quality of my work is unsurpassed in the industry. I have built a reputation on being the best of the best, and other technicians continually use me as a source of information. I have obtained many certificates and awards over the years, and most recently I was awarded General Motors Driveability Specialist silver distinction, from the General Motors Technicians Guild. This level of achievement is only awarded to ten technicians across Canada. I have been employed by Ford, Chrysler, General Motors, and by independent repair facilities. I am no stranger to business ownership; I have owned and operated Advanced Auto Service in St. Thomas from 1995 to 2005. Since then, I have manage other businesses but nothing compares to running your own business and I have truly enjoyed every day of work, since the conception of Gurr Auto.
